GOLF STAFF

The LCC course is supervised by one LPGA and two PGA Professionals, along with Bill Irving, Golf Course Superintendent.

Jon Zylstra, PGA Professional

Jon has been a golf professional since 1985 with stops at Westward Ho Country Club in Sioux Falls, SD, Meadowbrook Country Club in Kansas City, and Leawood South Country Club in Kansas City. Jon became the Head Pro at LCC in 1992.

Kristen Samp, LPGA Class A Teaching Professional

Kristen comes to Lawrence Country Club straight from a careeer where she played professionally for 11 years. She spent four seasons competing on the LPGA Tour. In October of 2009, she earned her full credentials as a Teaching Professional from the LPGA. Over her career she has worked with some of the best minds and teachers in golf. Kristen started teaching at LCC in April of 2009.

Bob Darkenwald, PGA Apprentice

Bob joined the LCC staff as a Professional Golf Assistant in 2003. He is originally from Overland Park, Kansas. He graduated from the University of Kansas in 1985. After a 13 year career working for the Kansas City Star and a 5 year career as a real estate appraiser in Lawrence, he has now settled into a career of teaching golf. He is currently working on his PGA membership as an apprentice.
